"What Happened to Your Hand?"
This was Harry's very 1st painting of Jesus, and it was washed in 1945 soon after Harry joined the Seventh-day Adventist Church — this painting was very controversial in that it was also the very first fourth dimension that Jesus was pictured in a modern-mean solar day setting. Harry said it took him 7 tries until he got Jesus' face up "only right"…

When I visited the R&H in 1985 they had the original displayed on this wall…
Years agone this painting was h2o-damaged in a burn when the water seeped in around all iv sides of the frame and "blurred/smeared" the art — only the center area with Jesus and the young girl was untouched — when Harry was asked if he could fix it and repaint information technology he said, "No."

Harry also did this painting in 1945…
This was an ad that featured Spencer Tracy every bit a pilot — with a young girl sitting on his lap, and a young male child holding a model airplane… very similar to "What Happened to Your Hand?" — both were painted in 1945!
